Dharma Center of America to Inaugurate a New Food Pantry in Lowell, MA

LOWELL, MA—Dharma Center of America (DCA) opens a new community service center on Merrimack Street in Lowell, MA, on Sunday. The center will provide a food pantry, tutoring services, and yoga classes, all at no cost to the public.
DCA is hosting the inauguration ceremony on January 15, 2017 at the Center location, 144 Merrimack Street from 10:30-11:30 AM.
DCA is powered by volunteers, who are professionals in fields such as technology, finance, education, medical/pharmaceutical, and consulting. Each volunteer has been active in community service for more than 15 years in Massachusetts. The idea of opening a food pantry in Lowell was a result of several months of research and communication with city and town officials in nine cities in the greater Boston area. Given the rich diversity of the community in Lowell, pressing need for filling the food pantry gap, and serious demand for after school tutoring services, the decision to choose the city of Lowell was well justified.
