Founded in 2017, the Dharma Center of America (DCA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization rooted in the timeless Hindu principle of Nar Sewa Narayan Sewa — service to people is service to God. Our guiding mission is simple yet powerful: "No one in my community should go hungry." From our first days, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that every person in our community has access to the basic necessities of life — nutritious food, educational opportunity, and a path toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. Led by President Dr. Suresh K. Jain and a dedicated executive team, DCA brings together a volunteer base of over 150 professionals from fields including technology, finance, education, medicine, and consulting — each with a deep and long-standing commitment to community service in Massachusetts.
What began as a food pantry at our community service center at 144 Merrimack Street in Lowell, MA, has grown into a multi-faceted organization serving the neighborhoods of Lowell, Burlington, Boston, and Cambridge. In partnership with the Merrimack Valley Food Bank, we provide free food, after-school tutoring, and yoga and wellness classes to all who need them — with no cost and no barriers. We have served over 2,000 meals to families in need, delivered weekly hot meals to women and children through our partnership with "On the Rise," and united with valued partner organizations — including Chinmaya Mission of Boston, Sewa International USA, Tamil Makkal Mandram, New England Marathi Mandal, and many others — to extend our reach and deepen our impact across Greater Boston. At Dharma Center of America, we believe that a compassionate community is a stronger community, and we remain committed to serving every neighbor who walks through our doors.Type your paragraph here
